This was our first volunteer effort at 2nd Harvest Tri-Cities food bank. I'd been looking for a new opportunity because I no longer serve as a preschool volunteer at church. I did that for 10 years; but I stopped enjoying it so it was time to move on. It's a great way to give back to the community and to practice and model service for my teen. I love to serve and I love to eat so I've combined these passions by serving at our local food bank. For December we encouraged customers to purchase pre-packed food bags that could easily be distributed to families in need. My son also donated $20 to help make our goal. I'm a proud mama! If you desire to be extraordinarily successful you must become a servant of others. Particularly someone who's achieved what you want to accomplish. The reason is simple - someone who's at your same level or lower cannot promote you. Learn more in this video below and also in chapter 10 of my book The Basics. |
