Ignorance is costly. Here's one example:
People still pay the IRS up front by having money taken out of their paychecks which the IRS invests and collects interest on. They use this money to do what? Not really sure because U.S. citizens pay state taxes that cover most of their day-to-day needs. And they (the IRS) can afford to pay Equifax millions of dollars to do quien sabe que. That tells me they have a surplus somewhere.
Not only is the IRS acting in ignorance and without wisdom in the above instance, but American citizens, aren't rushing to change their tax withholding statuses to exempt. Why not? It's foolishness. Do you go to McDonald's and pay in advance for food you may not eat before the year's over? No. So why then do so many pay the IRS in advance just to get a refund on their own money? Especially when the IRS multiplying your money without giving you dividends!
It's common knowledge - or should be - that it's not against the law to keep your money to invest for yourself throughout the year and then only send the IRS a check for your actual taxes owed. Businesses do this. People have been told to select their withholding without employers actually explaining how the tax system works. And that's ignorance at its best - allowing the status quo to set an information standard.
Thankfully, I was taught that I don't have to pay them up front and then get a refund on my own money after they've earned compound interest on it for months. I know that I can keep my money to invest, increase and multiply for my household and only give them one payment each year based on what I owe and no freebies.
I'm not in the business of making everyone else rich but myself. There is plenty of money to go around, and I'm getting my share and learning how to increase what I spend so that I make more than I'm putting out, and I'm doing that without dishonest business practices. I've simply learned how to make my money work for me instead of me working (striving) for it.
I can teach you to do the same. I have a financial course coming in 2018 that'll teach how to break out of the rat race and prosper by the principles of wisdom. Look out for it. But, if you can't wait until 2018 and need a financial breakthrough now, schedule a call or book a package with me. I'll even give you a 2-for-1 if you book a Financial Deliverance Session by 12/31/17.
I mentioned in Teaching Teens About Debt that I've been asked about paying an allowance. I don't pay an allowance personally, I pay for working.
My son is 14 and has a few monthly financial obligations that have to do with gaming services. He makes some money with that and if he wants more I give him the option of working to earn it. I pay him an hourly wage according to his age. So he's presently making $14/hour; in December he'll increase to $15.
The work I have him do ranges from chores to assisting me with my businesses, which is the majority of how he earns. Cleaning his room and trash duties are excluded from payment because those are his required family contributions. This week he's checking and correcting the links in this blog because some of them were dead due to the change from zsolvesproblems.com to ZariBanks.com.
There are times when I'll have some cash and give him a couple dollars when he doesn't have any. He has a savings account and a prepaid debit card, but it's nice to have cold, hard cash when he wants to run to the convenience store for a soda or something. But that's an every now and then thing, not a habit.
That may seem radical to you, but it's my responsibility to teach him how to earn and use money. I've been to high school and college, taught high school and I can verify that financial wisdom isn't taught intentionally. I also taught financial literacy courses to adults for two years, and usually by the time adults seek help it's because they're in financial turmoil. I'm not willing to allow my son to wait until he's in trouble to get wisdom.
I hope you're not going through financial difficulty right now, but if you are I have strategies that can turn things around for you quickly. My Financial Breakthrough Session is just what you need.
What you see above is a record of debt owed to me and payments made by my son. Earlier this year he wanted to make a large purchase that was outside of his current financial ability, and he approached me for credit.
We discussed it and I agreed that it was a worthwhile investment for him because the product relates to his income source and one of his dreams (future goals), and because it was a lesson on debt that I want him to internalize ASAP. You know, it's one thing for me to repeatedly say don't get into debt, and another, more powerful thing for him to experience it.
This isn't the first time he's experienced being indebted to me for a purchase, of course, and obviously owing me hasn't hit him hard enough just yet so I'm thankful the opportunity presented itself again while he's still under my charge. I was inspired to write this post today (6.29.2016) because he came to me and asked for money, and I happily replied, "I will not loan you anything else until your current debt is cleared." And let me tell ya ... he put in an hour's work to get back on track settling this debt because he doesn't want his bank to remain closed.
Folks have asked me about giving allowances and how I determine how much to pay him, and I'll share that with you in a future post later this month.
My most-popular mentoring session is The Financial Breakthrough. If you're in need of a money turnaround. Don't wait another minute. Schedule with me today to prepare for increase in your future.
QUESTION: I've been slacking on my running goals and think an accountability partner may be the kick in the butt I need. Do you have an accountability partner?
ANSWER: Yes, I have accountability partners for the areas of my life that I require them. So I recommend one/them. Specifically for running, I don't have one because my appetite and the consequences keep me in sneaks and on the pavement every year without fail.
I've shared this before in other posts and other places — there are some things you won't ever accomplish without a mentor, coach or accountability partner. It's just a fact of life. We're not meant nor are we able to do everything alone.
I had to learn that the hard way. My own son, who's 25 years younger than I am, once told me, "You're so stubborn ... why don't you just let someone help you?" I used to pride myself on doing a lot and doing it by myself as a single woman/mother. I still do a lot, but I don't have any trouble asking for or receiving help these days. And because I do so much, help is a blessing.
Mentors, coaches and accountability partners are a form of help. They're finishers. They're champions ... overcomers and experts. We all need them.
My areas of expertise as a mentor are:
1. Communication — I help my clients clean up their speech. You know, most of us have a public persona and private one, and unfortunately the private one often gets neglected trying to keep up the public. So when we get home where we're comfortable, we don't guard our speech with words of love, care and concern as we should, and as a result end up creating dysfunction in the most-important realm of life.
2. Breakthrough and Deliverance — I help my clients get over, through and around barriers, whether invisible or physical, that keep them stuck or away from the success they desire. We all have dreams that seem massively unattainable, but that's never the case. With a little assessment and planning we can get from here to there. I'm a witness.
3. Financial Turnaround — I help my clients climb out of the pits of debt, poverty and cycles of lack. I've experienced all of those things (and homelessness) and through mentors overcame to become one who now mentors others on doing the same. Once you've lost it all and had to rebuild on a new foundation, you do whatever has to be done to build right the second time around.
If you're ready to improve your communication, experience breakthrough and deliverance or financial turnaround, book me today.
Having more month than money is not the business. I lived that way for longer than I wanted and longer than necessary. I'm glad that I sought the wisdom I needed to break through into total provision.
Last week I spoke with a client who owes a $900 debt they can't pay immediately, but they need the service attached to the debt for work. That's a tough position to be in. I'm happy they shared the situation with me, though, because I had a simple and easy solution.
I asked, "Can you afford to send $15 a week to start paying it down? Many people will work with you when they see you putting forth consistent effort." The response was ... thinking ... then the light came on ... "I hadn't thought of that."
See. Simple and easy but they hadn't thought of that solution because they were only focused on what they didn't have. If your vision is lack-based, you'll always be behind and trying to catch up because that's exactly what LACK means. But if you enlarge your vision to focus on what you CAN do, you'll soar because you'll have received revelation of potential.
Are your eyes BIGGER than your budget? If so I can help you get things down to a manageable size. Schedule a call or book a package today.
I'm relentless about breaking through limitations in my life and moving into greater possibilities. I'm here to walk through the process with and encourage you when you're ready. Watch.
Do you have a plan for your money? If you don't, you're working for it instead of it working for you. And if you're working for it, that means you're a slave.
I ask this question in every financial breakthrough mentoring session because nine times out of 10 the answer is no. I listened to my financial mentor instruct mentees to have a money plan for more than a year before I actually put one in place. So basically I continued to fail and experience only minimal breakthrough in my financial realm than is possible. As soon as I did create a money plan, my wealth potential increased immediately and my breakthrough into total provision manifested shortly after.
There are people out there in the world who haven't broken through into total provision, yet. They still worry about having every need met. That doesn't have to be anyone's reality. Wealth transfers hands every single day and there's abundance available everywhere.
I came from a place of destitution, homelessness and lack just four years ago. I made up my mind that I wasn't going to only come out of that pit but also elevate to what many others achieved. I gathered the necessary tools, used them and am now qualified pull others up as well.
Invest in yourself. If you want to come out of slavery to the world's economic system and become someone who commands wealth schedule a call or book a package today.
Whatever our area of expertise, as parents, career people and entrepreneurs it's our responsibility to share our success strategies with the next generation.
My favorite form of exercise is running. Running is great for quick weight loss and maintenance and it just feels good. At the beginning of July I set a goal to be at 10-minute miles by month's end. I'm a warm-weather runner only (and when I say warm I mean hot) so I didn't begin until some time in June, and yes, 10-minute miles in four weeks is a lofty goal for someone who only exercises four months a year. It wasn't always this way. When I lived in Arizona I ran 10 months a year because the weather permitted it.
I didn't make it. I seemed to have plateaued at about 11.5 minutes per mile. Well, that's not ok with me so I began doing a little reading on running and marathon training. I found several strategies that potentially could offer me improvement, implemented a few and I'm pleased to announce that on my run Sunday, August 16, 2015 I broke 10 minutes per mile!
Look at the picture on the right. I broke 10 minutes and shaved almost 60 seconds off each mile in 2 days. If you know anything about running you know that's pretty significant.
In order to get off the plateau and begin improving as a runner I did three things:
I always get life lessons and flashbacks of teaching strategies out of re-conditioning my body to run each summer and this situation is no exception. Here are the things that stood out to me that apply to any area we want to break through in:
As a mentor, I want to you see you succeeding at the things that matter most to you. If you're a self-starter, you're probably able to take the strategies above and apply them to your life independently. If that's you, the Supernatural Success Mentee Portal is perfect for you. You get access to breakthrough strategies that'll help you achieve extraordinary promotion.
If you need a detailed plan of attack to break through in a specific area of life schedule a call or book a package right now. There's a $25 Financial Breakthrough special available for a limited time. Don't put off success any longer. Decide and then act today.
This article originally appeared on the Linda Dominique Grosvenor-Holland, The Grow Your Dreams Midwife(TM) site. I'm sharing this with you because it's not information that I write on myself but it's valuable, straight forward and provided by an expert from whom I learn much. She's one of my mentors. Also, over the last six months I've advised at least five clients to commit to blogs to get their writings and books exposure and sales. I want you to be successful in every area of life, and if I don't give you the wisdom directly, I'll point you in the right direction.
Are thinking about blogging but just don’t know where to start? Here are 5 quick tips for the serious blogger:
1. Get off the freebie blog sites. You may be comfy there and it may be easy because they host everything for you - including your photos and audios - but if you’re trying to build something lasting and make money at it, at the very least you need to OWN IT! That means buy your own domain and start blogging there. Inbox me and I can get you started blogging in a weekend! I got my husband’s blog up and running in less than an hour, and it only took that long because he was deciding on a template.
2. You need to understand and start using social networks. Sure you may love Facebook and hate Twitter or you may hate Twitter and love Instagram, but if you’re trying to spread the word about your blog you’re going to have to learn how to draw people to your blog not just by using what you like to use but by using what your target audience uses as well. That also means you’re going to have to break out of your stifling tight circle of church or work friends, too. Yep, you’ll have to reach out and let complete strangers like, follow and/or friend you ... oh my!
3. Guest Blogging is an option. But it’s an option you don’t want to abuse. You don’t want to harass popular bloggers and gurus with requests to come to your blog and share all that they know. If your blog has nothing to offer them in terms of traffic or even a free ad for 3 months it’s a bit unfair. A better option is to build your reputation and traffic a bit first before you launch out in search of guest bloggers, or even just begin sharing what you know. Become the expert of your own blog before you go looking outside of your blog and once the traffic starts coming guest bloggers won’t mind coming along for the ride too.
